The Marcher Beside Me

Protests are necessary and important. As I looked at the crowd today, however, I wondered: how many of these white folks choose to have ongoing difficult and uncomfortable conversations with their friends, family and even themselves about racism in America? It seems easy to hold a sign and wear a shirt with a hashtag.

Will you do the work between marches? Will you speak up when your voice is the only one of dissent?
